India’s Best Forts

In India there are not many castles that you can visit. If you like such structures, you will want to visit forts and there are so many in the country. You will surely want to visit many of these. Red Fort – Delhi

 

The red sandstone structure is simply iconic. Many see it as the country’s pride and is included in UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. Although this citadel is only a shadow of what it used to be, millions of people visit it every single year. You can be the next one.

Red Fort was built during the seventeenth century by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan. Completion took around ten years and the royal family originally lived there. In the fort there are many mosques, private halls and gardens. You will love them.

Amber Fort – Jaipur

 

You will find this gemstone in Rajasthan and stands out as a fort that is highly visited and appreciated by people from all around the world. There are actually many forts that are inside the fort and it is guarantee that you will feel welcomed by the wavelets you see in Maota Lake. Agra Fort – Agra

Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan is responsible for the appearance of this fort and the chivalric king did die here. We should also add that from Agra Fort you will be able to see Taj Mahal so you can actually visit them in just one day.

Daulatabad Fort – Aurangabad

 

Time surely left its print on the Daulatabad Fort but we have to acknowledge it as being one of the best forts in India, one that showcases history and so much more. The setting of this fort is simply beautiful, overlooking vegetation and creating a true paradise for photographers. The look is definitely vintage and the Daulatabad Fort was ruled by so many dynasties in the past. All of them left some imprints.
