Silent Movie Theater – Cinefamily
Cinefamily opened in 2007. It appeared due to the work of Hadrian Belove, LA native, together with the Harkham family. Many want to go here because of the thought-provoking shows that are offered. You basically go here for something that is different to a theater that is a tremendous place for pop-culture and parties. You will find art here, various contemporary indie films, major international directors and a lot more that will make a movie/art/culture lover keep coming back. However, do check in advance. Some of the movies are kitschy and B grade while others are simply masterpieces.
ArcLight Hollywood
One of the most well-known and respected of the best movie theaters in Los Angeles. The seating is really comfortable, sight and sound is state of the art, you have an in-house café, Dionysian indulgence, snack bars and so much more. You will be able to gain access to a perfect programming mix of foreign fare, premiers, indies and first-run flicks. Alcohol is sometimes allowed and various cinephile treats are right on display. Out of all the LA modern multiplex facilities, this is the one that is the most appealing while also being classic thanks to Cinerama Dome.
Vista Theater
This is a single screen but it is really historic in Los Angeles. There is basically no digital movie experience here. Movies are still played on film reels while the viewer is surrounded by huge Art Deco fixtures, tremendous staff and Egyptian themed details on the walls. We cannot say that everything is luxury but you will definitely feel great.
Nuart Theatre
At Nuart Theatre you will be able to see so many foreign flicks, independent movies, restored classics and arthouse movies, all throughout the year. What many do not know is that this is a movie theater in Los Angeles that is run by the same people behind the well-known Regent and Landmark. If you decide to visit, make sure that you also go to the CineFile Video store, which is really close since there are various hard to locate movies you can buy.
LACMA Bing Theater
This is a comfortable and large movie theater in Los Angeles. It often hosts revivals, video illustrations and foreign films, among others. You will want to visit because of the art collection that is added. There is actually a museum here that has regular screenings, retrospectives, exhibits, matinee screenings of various Hollywood classics and so much more. Films will be screened on 35 mm reels, unless it is noted differently.
